If you go down to the woods today – you might get a big surprise – Teva’s very own ';Naturist’ might be down there, dispensing his own brand of quirky outdoor survival advice. Eat your heart out Ray Mears, watch and weep Bear Grylls – cos ';The Naturist’ is on one big outdoors wind-up.

Follow the sequel video antics of Teva’s very own backcountry survival ';expert’ (played by Vice Magazine co-founder and creator, Gavin McInnes) who: "Tried to hibernate back in September ’09 by self-prescribing anaesthetic, and just woke up."

The action follows on from the success of the original Naturist online hit released in 2009. And he’s back for more mayhem and, "To drop some more natural knowledge on everyone." In the new video the Naturist returns to provide viewers with a range of highly questionable advice on how to survive the many perils of the great outdoors including how to build a bed in the backwoods, and how to handle lightweight layering with household items, all with predictably calamitous results for the Naturist.

Produced by Decon Creative Group, based in New York with a new addition this year is original music for the videos written and performed by Stefan Lessard, bassist for Dave Matthews Band.

"We wanted to create an unexpected campaign for a hiking product. Typically these types of spots depict a survivalist-type character in some far off place conquering nature," says Joel Heath, Global Marketing Director for Teva. "We’re poking a little fun at ourselves and those who take on the outdoors armed with only a few nuts and their own urine to survive – and Gavin was the right man for the job. The partnership turned out to be a natural fit and a fun way to bring humor into the launch of our hiking product. We are thrilled to have a great team in place to introduce the Naturist to the world."

The Naturist spots will run throughout the month of September and will be permanently be available on teva.com/naturist after the series concludes.
