Speedo’s Keri-anne Payne Takes Victory in Eilat

Olympic open water silver medalist and Speedo Ambassador Keri-anne Payne has stormed to victory in her first 10km race of the season at the LEN Open Water Cup in Eilat, Israel. Keri-anne used her tried-and-tested tactic of leading the race from the start, by controlling the race and dictating the speed..

The victory follows hot on the heels of Keri-anne’s stand-out performance in the pool at the British Gas Swimming Championships in Manchester, where she broke the 1500m Freestyle British record which had stood for eight years and secured her place in the relay team for Shanghai with her performance in the 200m Freestyle.

For Open Water swimmers, Shanghai will prove to be the first step on the way to qualifying for the London 2012 Olympics. If they finish in the top ten in the 10km race they will have met the qualification criteria for the Games.
