This race is unique as not only is it in the 2012 venue it also combines athleticism with a fun, family event. There is a live band encouraging racers to go that little bit faster and the promise of a medal no matter what place you take. The race consists of: 1. 400m open water swim (in the Serpentine lido) 2. 15km cycle (on South Carriage Drive which is closed off for the event) 3. 5km run (through Hyde Park) This event is organised by SPW, a youth-led development charity. SPW believes that if young people are given the right support, opportunities and encouragement they have the potential to change their own lives and the lives of the communities and countries around them. The charity has been repeatedly cited as an example of best practice by World Bank and UNAIDS. (www.spw.org). Speedo is once again thrilled to be backing such a great family triathlon event as part of its overall triathlon offering this year. The intensive triathlon-focused programme for 2010 includes the launch of TriathELITE® a new triathlon dedicated product range, involvement in an extensive event schedule and the recruitment of a team of triathlon ambassadors including athletes and a panel of triathlon experts and coaches. Overall the programme is set to position Speedo as a major force in the triathlon market.
