of The Speedo Splash Awards 2011, that recognises and
celebrates the achievements of British swimmers and aquatic
athletes past, present and future. This year’s awards
event was hosted on Friday 16th September at London’s
Hurlingham Club in the presence of British Swimming teams
and celebrity swim enthusiasts including Jason Bradbury and
Pamela Stevenson.

Female Swimmer Of The Year – Rebecca Adlington
Rebecca took Gold at the Commonwealth Games in both the 800m and 400m freestyle events, plus a Gold at the 2011 World Championship in the 800m freestyle and Silver in the 400m freestyle – made this another fantastic year for the Nottingham based Nova Centurian.
Male Swimmer Of The Year - James Goddard
Goddard took Gold in the Long Course 200m Backstroke at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in a record beating time.
Young Athlete Of The Year – Jack Laugher
Diver Laugher won two Golds at the 2010 World Junior Championships in the 1m and 3m Springboard events. In the 2011 World Championships he finished a credible 8th in the 3m Springboard.
Disability Swimmer Of The Year – Susie Rogers
Rogers won a phenomenal five Golds and one Silver in the 2011 IPC European Championships in Freestyle, Backstroke and Butterfly events.
Divers Of The Year – Tonia Couch & Sarah Barrow
Crouch and Barrow narrowly missed out on a medal in Shanghai, coming fourth in the 10m Synchro. Their performance bodes well for 2012.
Waterpolo Performance Of The Year – Adam Scholefield
One of Britain’s top centre forwards and a former player of the year, Scholefield continues to distinguish himself in the pool.
Synchronised Swimmer Of The Year – Jenna Randall
Podium finishes in Delhi and an impressive World Championships in Shanghai, Jenna has continued to move up the world rankings and is now poised to make an impact in London.
Open Water Swimmer Of The Year – Keri-Anne Payne
Olympic Silver medallist in the Open Water Marathon, Payne won Gold in the 10km swim at the 2011 World Championships and was the first GB swimmer to qualify for the 2012 Games.
Performance Of The Year (Voted by the public) – Tom Daley
Despite an injury ravaged 2010,Tom Daley won two Golds at the Commonweath Games in the 10m Platform and 10m Synchro and finished 7th and 8th in these events respectively at the 2011 World Championships.
Speedo’s Inspiring Club Award – SLM
This award recognises the operator who actively support clubs with the pools they manage. SLM works closely with British Swimming and has a strong relationship with clubs operating within its pools.
Splash Star Award – Celebrities Supporting ';The Swim’
The team of celebrities including Ronan Keating, Jason Bradbury & Pamela Stevenson that took part in ';The Swim’ in aid of Cancer Research. Together they completed the gruelling challenge of swimming the Irish Sea as part of a relay effort.
Lifetime Achievement Award – Sean Kelly
Kelly is Britain’s most successful swimming coach; his swimmers have won more Olympic medals than those of any other coach. He also trains Keri-Anne Payne, the first team GB athlete to qualify for the 2012 games.
