09 March 2009 – Speedo today announced that its partnership with British Swimming will continue until 2016. The unprecedented deal follows an already successful 4 year relationship and signifies the longest ever association British Swimming has had with a swim wear brand.

Commenting on the announcement, David Robinson, President of Speedo International, said; "We have been working with grass roots swimming for over 80 years across many countries. British Swimming is one of the most professional sports organisations in the world and, together, we aim to nurture and develop the future stars of tomorrow."

As a British Swimming Official Partner, Speedo will exclusively provide swimwear, apparel and equipment to both elite and development teams in all aquatic disciplines; including swimming, diving, water-polo, synchronised swimming and
disability events.

In keeping with its passion and commitment to grass roots swimming, the new partnership also allows Speedo to bring over 80 years of expertise and heritage to the next generation of athletes through involvement with the National Teaching Plan for Swimming and the Kellogg’s ASA Award Scheme – the largest
’;learn to swim’ awards programme of its kind, awarding over 2 million badges each year. New to this partnership is the addition of Swim-a-Song, a fun and innovative incentive aimed at introducing parents with babies or very young children to the exciting world of swimming.
