To celebrate the games in the Far East this summer, ASICS has created a special edition range of its track and field shoes, entitled the Beijing collection. Sporting an eye-catching and distinctive red, silver and black colourway, the Beijing spikes are a special one-off for the 2008 season.

The range contains the renowned ASICS technologies that make them an essential choice for the serious athlete. Anyika Onuora, the 100m and 200m sprint specialist will don the Cyberflash Beijing, an ultra-lightweight 180gm sprinting shoe, fitted with a non-removable EVA sockliner and an air mesh upper for one of the lightest, most efficient spikes available.

Both Sam Ellis, the 800m men’s specialist, and Helen Karagounis, the 4 x 400m relay runner, will wear the Cyber MD Beijing.
