Simple® Shoes the sustainable sneaker brand, based in Santa
Barbara, California, has unveiled its new Spring 2011
collection of sneakers and flip-flops. The range
effortlessly combines wearable style, cool design and a
laid-back attitude with impeccable eco-credentials.
Check out Simple’s new women’s collection – offering
shoes that are sleek, lightweight and made from washed
certified organic denim and micro-perforated, eco-certified
leathers and suedes.
Simple has also extended its successful BIO.D collection
(launched last spring), which features shoes with
biodegradable soles. How so? Well, the outsoles and midsoles
are manufactured using EcoPure, an organic compound that
eats away at the bonds that hold rubber, plastic and EVA
together. This allows the midsoles and outsoles of the
styles, when exposed to the moisture and heat typical of
landfills, to biodegrade in 20 years as opposed to the
industry average of 1,000 years.
New for 2011, are sleek and slim BIO.D styles for women
complete with a new, super cool low profile silhouette. The
molded rubber outsole provides a lightweight and flexible
option that is a fresh new look for Simple. The Aloha! Denim
is
made with certified washed organic denim, eco-certified
suede and certified organic cotton laces and is available in
white, tan, charcoal and white/charcoal. Women will also
love the easy on, easy off Take On Elastic. Based on the
tremendous success of the Satire Elastic from the Spring
2010 line, this lower profile sneaker is colourful, fun,
playful, and right on trend.
The colorful striped PET elastic band not only looks great,
but helps create a sneaker that is easy to put on and take
off.
Outsoles are made of a blend of natural rubber and recycled
car tyre. This style is also available for young girls
sizes, in white, black and tan.
