Zenlight, the new eyewear creation by Silhouette, the world’s leading rimless eyewear
specialist, has won a major design accolade from the renowned iF International Forum Design in its ';Leisure & Lifestyle’ design category.

The iF product design awards jury – which included design luminaries such as Carlo Colombo
from Milan and Peter Thonet – evaluated eleven criteria for the iF product design awards:
Design quality, processing, selection of materials, degree of innovation, environmental
sustainability, functionality, ergonomics, usage visualisation, safety, brand value + branding,
and universal design. The jury believed Zenlight stood out amongst the 1,000’s of entries from
around the globe with the light elegance of its Golden Light model combining the purity of
white and the glamour of gold.

The design of the new range is based upon the teachings of Zen, with Silhouette’s eyeglasses
providing wearers with the highest level of comfort and unimpeded vision with the emotion of
endless well-being within the colours and construction of these eyewear masterpieces made
from soft SPX plastic.

The iF product design awards are considered the hallmark for awarding excellence in design
and a major trend barometer of outstanding design work. Silhouette is no stranger to the
awards - being one of the most successful eyewear manufacturers in the award’s history.
The prize-winning designs can be seen from March to August 2010 at the iF product design award exhibition in Hanover and will be on permanent exhibition on the website of International Forum Design. There will also be an iF product design award yearbook available in the spring of 2010 showcasing all the winning designs – including Silhouette’s Zenlight.
