Hereford postie’s fundraising gets boost from online retailer

Leominster-based mandmdirect.com, the UK’s number one online discount fashion and sports retailer, has donated to 1,000 to Hereford postman Mike Chandler as part of his efforts to raise money for prominent charity, Breast Cancer Haven.

To raise money for the charity, Mike will be running a sponsored treadmill-based marathon in Maylords Orchard, Hereford. In a unique link, mandmdirect.com offered to sponsor the posting of sponsorship request letters around the county mandmdirect.com’s support helped Mike reach a phenomenal overall total of 18,000.

Says mandmdirect.com’s CEO Mike Tomkins, "Seeing everyday local people embarking on endeavours such as Mike’s fills us with real pride. We at mandmdirect.com wanted to help him raise funds in any way and we’ve managed to do that. It’s a charity that is no doubt close to his heart and we’re delighted to help him in any way."
