Speedo goes to great lengths to make sure the products you buy provide not only a superb user experience, but are made to last. Now they’ve gone one step further by enhancing their packaging to be 100% recyclable. Whether it’s making goggles pouches from swimsuit fabric cut offs or using cardboard packaging sourced from managed forests, Speedo’s doing its bit for the environment!

Astonishingly Speedo has cut 118 tons of PVC and 316 tons of plastic from the creation of its equipment packaging. Also, thanks to the use of cardboard from managed forests, Speedo’s new packaging also receives a badge of approval from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a major international non-profit agency promoting responsible management of the world’s forests.

The approach continues to the products themselves; all goggles and headwear is 100% PVC free, complying with Speedo’s Restricted Substance policy, which prevents the inclusion of harmful substances in the creation of its products. Speedo is the only swim product manufacturer to not use plastic in its packaging. In addition to the eco-credibility of the products and packaging, product visibility was integral in Speedo’s redesign process.

All products are now broken down into colour-coded segments, with new hi-resolution product images on front of pack. This makes it easier for you to identify the product you want without any confusion! The new packaging is exclusive to John Lewis stores nationwide from late August 2008.
