The Kangol SS12 collection focuses on natural materials and functionality with protection from the elements. Kangol is pleased to announce its first season collaboration with P2i, a liquid repellent nano-coating technology. The revolutionary process creates an ultra thin polymer layer that changes surface properties and causes liquids to form beads that simply roll off. P2i coating has been added to iconic Kangol shapes such as; Tropic504 and Spacecap, plus more recent shapes like the 507 and Duke in a new Zig Textured Herringbone Tropic knit and pique knit Polo Stripe group. As part of Kangol’s continuing earth friendly program, 100% recycled Polyester is used for our timeless Tropic hats. The yarn looks and feels the same as the current Tropic hats

This season’s gold group protects from both rain and sun with a SPF of 30 and a water resistant coating. It is decorated with branded metal eyelets for stylish breathability and pin stripe lining. We have added a new famine Visor with tapered brim and bow closure. The collaboration with Aerial7 continues with spring/ summer shapes and fabrics developed to hold the Sound Disk system while protecting from the sun with cool UV coating Taslon fabrics and lightweight Bamboo. We have developed the Sun Army with a French Legion flap to protect your neck from the sun and separate pouches for the Sound Disks and a toggle to adjust the size. Our Luke collection focuses on quality and innovative craftsmanship from America and England. The Made in England styles use check patterns named after towns in Yorkshire, where the fabrics and hats are made. The hats made in USA feature natural dyes and interesting fabric combinations. The Bubble group is made from Parasisol a fine, high quality natural straw. It is delicate in texture but resilient in wear. The natural dyes and dyes extracts used to dye the hats are made from earth pigments and natural colourants. The pattern on the band is created using a bubble dye technique to give a vintage effect. The swirl styles feature lightweight two colour felted wool on the brim and an open weave straw crown. While the Connect group combines Bamboo knit with fine weave straw.
