Gloria Vanderbilt, the iconic brand behind the world′s first designer stretch jeans is back in the UK after a 15 year absence with a new proposition for the stylish –40 is the new 30 and 50 is the new 40′ type woman.
Gloria Vanderbilt products enjoyed overnight success when they were first launched in the 1970′s and the brand quickly became a global phenomena -with the business boasting a $500m turnover by 1985. The brand′s profile was also boosted by distinctive advertising campaigns fronted by a host of top models and celebrities including Debbie Harry, Helena Christiansen, Kate Moss and Giselle.
The new Gloria Vanderbilt designer jeans range will be on sale to UK consumers from September 2009. The range is specifically targeted at the discerning, design conscious woman desiring the cachet of a designer label but also wanting a flattering, comfortable quality garment. The brand will continue to pride itself on providing the most perfect, most flattering fit and has been designed to provide women with curves with aspirational and stylish designs.
The new range, complete with Gloria Vanderbilt′s famous swan logo, comes in three main fits: Slim Fit, which is a forgiving option to the –skinny′ and looks great teamed with either boots or heels; Bootcut, which is a design classic and perfect for all occasions and Regular Fit, providing a comfortable straight leg and allowing more room in the thigh. Each fit comes in short and regular leg lengths and sizes 10-20.
Priced £99 at retail, the range will be stocked in John Lewis plus leading high profile UK independents. The range will be fully supported with a marketing and PR campaign plus POS and in-store promotional material. The UK licensees will be offering a high level of customer support to the trade and weekly replenishment will be available.
