Eurosport will be showing comprehensive coverage of the athletics events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics from Friday August 15th. Athletics heats and finals will be shown live as the world’s greatest exponents of track and field compete for Gold in China.

Eurosport will be broadcasting more than 400 hours of Olympics coverage, and devoting the entire channel to Beijing for the duration of the event, including up to 15 hours a day of live action.

The channel goes live from 2am each morning through to 5pm. In the evening viewers can enjoy highlights of the day’s competition, including "Beijing Express", a one-hour round up of the day’s action. All main events are then repeated through to 2am.

Leading the athletics commentary for Eurosport is Tim Hutchings, a GB finalist at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, finishing fourth in the 1500m. The British athletics squad is yet to be selected for Beijing but expect Andy Baddeley, Kelly Sotherton, Phillips Idowu and Marlon Devonish to be in contention for Olympic gold.
