The all-new GEL-Treadmill addresses the key differences between treadmill running and road running. So what are the differences? Firstly, touchdown position of the foot on a treadmill is in a more neutral position on the outside of the foot. To counter this change in footstrike ASICS has altered the position of its GEL system to a more lateral position for maximum shock absorption.

Running on a treadmill increases the temperature inside the shoe to greater level than road running. To counter this, an ASICS Magic Sole has been included in the base of the shoe. The Magic Sole features air vents that allow for greater breathability, keeping the foot cool during the session.

Due to its moving platform, the treadmill is a far more unstable running environment. ASICS has included an extended trusstic, a moulded component under the mid-foot area, to provide extra stability and, in tandem the contoured midsole, help control any twisting of the foot that might occur while the treadmill is in motion. the GEL-Treadmill, including the superior SoLyte midsole, a Personal Heel Fit and DuoMax to provide smooth over-pronation control.
